About this mail server

mail.typist.kr is a privately operated email server providing email services for typist.kr.

The service is operated independently rather than through a public email provider. Mailboxes, SMTP submission, IMAP access, delivery, and server-side filtering are managed by the server itself.

Mail system

The server uses Postfix for SMTP mail transport and Dovecot for mailbox access through IMAP. The web interface provides access to mailboxes, composing, replying, forwarding, drafts, sent mail, junk mail, and other mailbox functions.

Mail server relationship

This server communicates directly with the mail server operated for phd.co.kr.

The two servers have an explicit server-to-server trust relationship. This allows legitimate mail between the two systems while keeping general SMTP access subject to the normal mail-server security controls.

Security

The mail system uses SMTP authentication for users submitting mail, TLS for authenticated connections, reverse-DNS checks for incoming SMTP connections, and restricted server-to-server trust rules.

The server is configured to avoid treating arbitrary Internet hosts as trusted mail infrastructure. Where a specific mail server needs to communicate directly with this server, its individual IP address can be explicitly authorized.
